Men business casual clothing, can mean number of things to men or women. Let’s face it given the option between a suit or laid back clothes, probably choose to dress laid back. What’s casual clothing? does it have a definite definition on how you dress to work or school.

Considering the amount of clothing you can wear to work, there a many options to wear. If you really look at it from a business perspective; slack, button up, blazer and a tie are the definition of business professional clothing. Men Business casual wear, has many of the same aspect of business profession clothing, except for the suit and tie. While studying for my masters, I understood the difference in both; being one of the younger student in the program, I came to the understanding there was a distinctive difference. Business casual wear, are not in full suit however they do carry some same layers of clothing as a business professional attire. Let me break it up into smaller pieces and explain the difference in clothing.

 

Men Business Casual Wear

  1. Khaki for men: When asked to wear business casual, consider the change from slacks to khaki pants or actually continue wearing slacks, but not jeans. Yes, some go into work with jeans and a button up shirt, however jeans have always been leisure clothing. What do you wear when you go out shopping; jeans? what about visiting a friend house? Probably also jeans, in reality in a work or project environment it’s better to be overdress than under dress, especially when you’re not sure of you surroundings.
  2. Dress shirt for men: Dress shirt workout in your favor, you’re able to wear a button up; long sleeve or either short sleeve. Business casual can also mean a plain polo; however it will need to be kept tucked in. The rule with the top layer of clothing is not to wear a t-shirt, even if it’s tucked in.
  3. Blazer: In most cases’ blazers are  always welcome, but not necessary. I personally enjoy wearing a blazer with my khaki. You never know if the office, plane, school or meeting is cold. You wouldn’t be remotely under dress for the location, and in general most wear blazers in nearly all settings.

Going from slacks to khaki, might not go well with you business casual clothing. Take a step and consider you options, and view which option would be best for you. Casual shoes that are dark such as brown or black, are a great option to have or purchase. You relatively need to have different color of shoes to go with you wardrobe. I personally enjoy wearing brown boots, that also go with my jeans and pants. Chose comfortable colors that are interchangeable with my clothing, and also give me an edge when meeting with friends after work. Most men opt for darker casual shoes, for great reasons’ they are safe color and reliable in nearly all occasion. They go with nearly all color of jeans and pants.

 

Rule of thumb with casual business shoes:

    1. Chose a shoe that you can use multiple times. If you’re being asked to dress business casual, you’re most likely going to be wearing this clothing for a while. Make business casual you thing, trust me I know at times wearing ties and suit can be the most annoying attire to wear. Reason being you have to keep you ties in order and press, while ensuring you suit from wrinkling. The Best part of dressing business casual is you’re able to use this attire in public without needing to feel over dress; It’s a safe bet on nearly all social events.
    2. Comfort: Make comfort a priority. Chose a shoe that fits perfect and also looks great. That’s really not a difficult thing to do. I’m a fanatic of wingtip, and I enjoy wearing them for their classy look. I order online at Macy’s, and even banana republic. They’re stylish and add a distinctive look with raw denim jeans.
    3. Color and style shoes: Chose a color and style that suits you look. You don’t have to settle for a business shoes, you have many choices from a variety of online stores. Ex. Sperry, Macy’s, Nordstrom, Dillard, and so much more.

My suggestions with back packs is choosing one that can be use over and over again. You want to purchase one that is large enough to conceal carry accessories and doesn’t feel like added weight. An example can be a toothpaste, toothbrush, belt, socks, and shirts. We at times purchase items that don’t last us.
