Do you ever book your flight and wonder how your flight might be? I have a trip coming up with Turkish airlines in a month, I have never flown with Turkish airline; so I figured it would be an appropriate time to share my experience with another well-known airline.
Booking
Scandinavian airlines (SAS) has a very easy website from where you can book your flights in the matter of minutes, though I purchase my bookings through a third party website at a lower cost. Many times I find the best deals through JetRadar, which is also where I scored the deal on this SAS Plus flight ticket.
SAS is similar to other major airlines, different classes you fly in SAS Plus being the old ”business” class. These days airlines have first class which is technically what SAS calls business class. You have the luxury of folding you seat into a bed etc.
Scandinavian airlines has three different classes :
- SAS Go
- SAS Plus
- SAS Business
I personally think that all three are nice, I have never had anything against flying economy but of course if you have the option to upgrade then why not? If I was offered an upgrade on a SAS flight I definitely would take the opportunity to do so.
Check-in
Checking in with SAS has always been smooth sailing, since I flew SAS Plus to the US, I was able to check in 2 bags, have one carry and a personal item.
Sometimes you worry if you have a transition flight that your luggage will get lost on the way but, SAS has never lost my luggage or been late to or from destination.
SAS Plus
Since I flew SAS plus I had some privileges that you wouldn’t have in SAS Go.

– 2 Check in bags
– Bigger more comfortable seats with more leg room
– WIFI on board
– Bigger TV screen
– Better headset
– Silver utensils instead of plastic
– Better quality pillow and blanket

In flight experience
I flew from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport through Copenhagen to Portland, Oregon and back through LAX and Arlanda Stockholm.
The service in SAS flights have always been a positive experience, the staff is friendly and attentive.
As I said before the SAS plus seats are bigger than economy class, however as someone who likes to sleep on airplanes I found it harder to sleep in SAS plus than an economy chair, due to the arm rest not being able to be pulled up between seats.
In SAS Plus you have a bigger screen for movies, I still think the selection of movies are the same as all other classes but a bigger screen is always great. In SAS Plus you have WIFI is included, I did not mind chatting with my friends during my 11 hour flight through WhatsApp and Facebook.
During my flight, the amount of food offered was more than I was able to eat. As you can tell from the pictures below, I was served food in actual bowls instead of the flimsy plastic and foil boxes. I personally enjoyed their food.
Conclusion
I really enjoyed my flight with SAS and would highly recommend that you also try out this airline, I think the flights were clean, staff was friendly and the food was great. I also think the SAS Plus experience was very convenient and comfortable.
You are definitely able to score some great flight deals for SAS, though JetRadar, check it out in the side bar.
